The problem is when it is someone’s personal agenda that is driving the discord, cloaked as important issues for the country, at the expense of the people. It is then that we look with envy at totalitarian governments who don’t need to put with these sort of problems and just order things through to law. But on balance, it’s better to live in a country like Italy, with government paralysis, than a totalitarian country without freedom. |
